Fleet Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

Position Summary:

This full-time position is responsible for maintaining and repairing all cars, trucks, vans, and fleet equipment at the company’s in-house repair shop.  This position will require daily coordination with the Fleet and Service Managers to deliver timely preventative maintenance and ad-hoc repairs as the needs arise.

Fleet Manager Responsibilities

  • Communicate mechanical issues with leadership as necessary

  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to determine equipment or vehicle condition; identify worn and damaged parts

  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling and disassembling

  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs and scheduling future service

  • Prioritizing repair and maintenance needs and working with fleet driver schedules to minimize impact to vehicle availability

  • Utilize discretion to keep maintenance costs to a minimum

  • Replace major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems (i.e. power and drive trains, electrical air condition, fuel, emission, brakes, steering, and hydraulics)

  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems

  • Ensure available equipment is ready for use through preventive maintenance schedules, installation of components and part, and controlling corrosion.

  • Contain cost by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options

  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting

  • Maintain shop equipment operations by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs

  • Maintain inventory stock, place orders, and verify receipts

  • Comply with federal state vehicle requirement by testing engines, safety, and combustion control standard

  • Other duties as required

 

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years recent fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance experience

  • Possess an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Medium/Heavy Truck Certification 

  • Must have a valid Georgia driver license, clean driving record, and authorization to drive a company vehicle before the start date in the position

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity and discretion

  • High proficiency in calendaring using Microsoft Outlook

  • High proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs

  • Forward-thinking and has the ability to anticipate needs and be proactive

  • Ability to partner with Executives and the administrative team to meet the needs of the office

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet daily deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and solid follow through

  • Ability to write and communicate effectively

 

Compensation

  • $18.00---$21.00/ per hour. Pay to commensurate with experience.
